Want to know about me??

I am Ranuka Udayanga and was born on 6th June 1989 in Mahavilachchiya in the North Central province of Sri Lanka. I attended the Siddhartha Public school for my studies from grade 1 to grade 11 and passed the Ordinary Level examination with good results. I joined  the Mathematics section of Walisingha Harischandra public school in Anuradhapura district for my Advanced Level. Even though the life in village is aesthetic, I had to go to city for schooling. It is about 40Km to Anuradhapura from my place and it is real nuisance to travel from my place. And it is boring to stay in city and my mind always finds village life more interesting .However I started going by bus to the school. Even though it is also boring I can be happy because I can come back to the village in the evening and also join Horizon Lanka too. When time passes I will get to this daily routine. 

The main occupation of our family is business and my father is Mr. Jayarathna who toils for our betterment and my mother is Mrs. Pathmasili who is dedicated to secure a good future for us. I have an affectionate brother, Kavinda Dhaneshwara, who is raising the happiness in our small nest. 

After I entered public school, I thought I could go ahead in technical section. I found the best place for that called Horizon Lanka Foundation. I entered Horizon when I was in Grade 6. Firstly working at a computer was marvelous to me and later I found it very interesting. Actually I started with MS Paint and MS Office. Then I tried to design my own webpage with the help of Mr. Wanninayaka. However I could develop it by animations and well designed graphics. I also was an expert there. While spending much time there, I could develop my computer knowledge a lot. Now I find it very easy to so programming, web designing, animations and etc. Anyhow because of the love for computers I made it a hobby. Playing computer games and making animations, remixing songs, video editing are some of my enjoyable activities. Playing football and cricket with my friends also makes my life enjoyable. 

When I acquired sound computer knowledge, my parents were hoping to buy a computer for me to help me increase my computer knowledge but with the financial problems it became a dream. Fortunately Horizon Lanka assisted me with its Digital butterflies program and my dream became true.. In addition to my computer literacy, my English and technical knowledge also developed and I started getting the best mark for English, Mathematics and Science. In the end I could be the best computer literate student of HLF because of Horizon Lanka Foundation.

Anyhow I have chosen a good path for my future through computer technology. I like programming a lot and I chose Mathematics section, too, to assist it. By this   will be able to further my programming knowledge but my dream is to learn Port Programming. Anyhow I do not have facilities for that yet.. However I think I can learn it quickly and I hope to study port programming when I get a chance.
